2017 White River Painting Exhibit Guidelines


Artist Eligibility: Open to artists residing within the Ozarks Region.

Paintings: May be submitted in most any painting medium. Inspiration for painting must be your own, not copied from photos or the product of a painting workshop. Paintings should have been completed within the past two years and not previously exhibited in the Ralph Foster Museum’s White River Painting Exhibits. Digital paintings will not be accepted. All paintings must be a paint medium applied to a canvas/paper and should represent the Ozarks Region. The piece or pieces submitted must be framed or with finished edges and ready for exhibit. Paintings must be ready to hang by wire - no saw tooth hangers. A photo of each piece front and back must be submitted with registration form. If piece does not meet requirements it will not be eligible for judging.

Entry Fees: $7.00 per painting, tax exempt with a limit of 2 entries. No charge for students with an I.D.

Awards:  Monetary awards will be awarded by the juror. Best of Show Award $200.00, 2nd Place Award $150.00, 3rd Place $100.00, selected Honorable Mention Awards $50.00.

Registration: Please fill out the registration form online for internet submission or registration form printable for mail-in or in-person. Send back your registration by mail, email, or by person. At time of receiving registration form, entry fees will be collected on the paintings that will make the show. You will be informed of the selection so you will know which piece or pieces to deliver for exhibit.

Presentation: Please fill out the Visitor Handout and Painting ID Tags. Cut and attach the ID Tags to the back of each painting. 

Entry Deadline: Paintings may be delivered to the Ralph Foster Museum between 9:00am and 4:00pm from Oct. 24th - Nov. 14th. Call if special arrangements need to be made. The museum is closed on Sunday.

Sales of Paintings: Are to be handled between artist and buyer. The Ralph Foster Museum will supply the artist’s contact information in the Registration Form which will be on hand during the exhibit so that prospective buyers may contact the artist.

Jurying: Will be conducted Thursday morning, Nov. 9th.

Disclaimer: All pieces will be thoroughly inspected before being hung and noted of any flaws or noticeable damage. This is to ensure that the students and staff of Ralph Foster Museum at College of the Ozarks are not held responsible to any incidents with pieces while under their possession, unless it was not a prior notate. All pieces not picked up after the deadline of December 22nd are now claimed as property of Ralph Foster Museum at College of the Ozarks.

Closing of Exhibition (Dec. 16th)
